FOOTBALL 2018

Well, the footy season is in full swing and all teams have had the opportunity to display their talents on various ovals around the Geelong region. Thank you parents for the time you give to transport your children around to ovals at odd times. The players appreciate your efforts and it is always great to see the smiles on faces after a game especially if it is a victory.

The fixture for the remainder of the season will be finalised by AFL Barwon in the next couple of days so please check emails from coaches or team managers as to when this occurs.

A huge thanks to all the team managers of our teams for their tireless efforts each week ensuring that all teams are ready to run on to the ovals. Please take the time to thanks these valuable members of the ammos community and ensure that you read information sent to you. Each week there are a number of roles that need to be fulfilled to allow matches to be played and every family is rostered on to undertake a specific duty. If you are unable to fulfil this duty, please ensure that you contact the team manager and alert them prior to the day of the match. It is also an expectation that an adult is always present at matches in case your child is injured or needs you.

Thank you to the Under 15 parents who assisted in the canteen at the last home match. Your assistance was greatly appreciated by the canteen crew. Under 13 parents are rostered to undertake this week’s match. Please check the roster that was distributed via email last week.

Coaches have worked tirelessly with the children over the last few weeks and their efforts need to be applauded as they ensure that all players are engaged and being challenged each training session. Parents who have assisted in training have made it easier for the coaches to concentrate on teaching the players skills needed for each game.

Bogan Bingo tickets are selling fast and to ensure that you do not miss out you will need to hurry. Thanks to the teams who have organised tables. If each team had representation on the night that would be fantastic. The date is May 19th in the clubrooms at Queens Park. Please join in the fun on this night. Everyone welcome.

We have been very fortunate with the weather at most matches so far this season but, I am sure that some nights and early mornings will be cold so rug up.

Kind regards,
